Veteran actor Nisar Qadri breathes his last, passes away aged 82

Deceased was suffering from prolonged illness, funeral prayers are to be offered today at Rawalpindi's Eidgah ground

Renowned actor Nasir Qadri breathed his last and passed away at the age of 82 in Rawalpindi after a prolonged illness.

Survived by his wife, two sons, and a daughter, the actor's funeral prayers will be offered at Eidgah ground, Chaklala.

Qadri started his career at Radio Pakistan back in 1966 and rose to fame from his work in Pakistan Television (PTV) dramas.

In recognition of his services to PTV, film, radio, and theatre, he was conferred with the President's Pride of Performance award in 2016.

Reacting to the news, caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Qadri.

The premier conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the deceased.

Meanwhile, interim Minister for Information Murtaza Solangi also expressed sorrow over Qadri's demise.

The minister expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for the family's courage to bear the irreparable loss.

Recalling the late actor's remarkable acting skills, Solangi underscored that Qadri's demise created an irreplaceable void in the entertainment industry and that his work for the national TV would never be forgotten.
