Nine killed in Peshawar passenger van blast

PESHAWAR: At least nine people including a woman were killed when a passenger van blew up in the Matni Bazaar area of the city.

20 passengers were traveling in the van when the blast took place and the deceased and injured have been shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital where emergency has been declared

Following the blast the market was shut down by security forces and the area has been cordoned off.

Police said the bomb was detonated via a timed device and 4-5 kilograms of explosives were used.
