PESHAWAR: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Wali-ur-Rehman was killed in a US drone strike in the North Waziristan region of the Pakistan’s tribal belt, a foreign news agency reported on Wednesday.
Five others were killed in the drone strike which took place near Miranshah earlier on Wednesday.
Wali-ur-Rehman was poised to succeed Hakimullah Mehsud as the leader of the Pakistani Taliban.
According to sources, the Taliban have denied that Wali-ur-Rehman was killed in the drone strike.
