Tom Cruise is not one to pump the brakes on dangerous Mission: Impossible stunts.

As Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning is about to grace cinemas, Tom is already working on “numerous” other films.

"I'm always shooting a film, prepping a film, posting a film," he excitedly revealed during a recent appearance on Australia's Today show.

"There's numerous other films that we're actively working on right now," said the Top Gun star.

However, Tom’s zeal for movie-making often involves death-defying stunts, which he does himself. A source has cautioned that the actor is overexerting himself at the age of 62.

"Tom is dicing with death every time he steps on set,” a mole told Radar Online. “There's admiration for his efforts, yes, but also real concern.”

"At some point, something could go very wrong – it's actually like he has a death wish," they added.

Despite the Mission: Impossible franchise, or Tom Cruise’s role as Ethan Hunt, coming to an end with Final Reckoning, the actor won’t slow down when it comes to action films. He recently teased sequels of Days of Thunder and Top Gun 3.

Teasing the films, he said, "Yeah, we're thinking and talking about many different stories and what could we do and what's possible.”

"It took me 35 years to figure out Top Gun: Maverick, so all of these things we're working on, we're discussing Days of Thunder and Top Gun: Maverick," he continued.

He added: "I just finished a film with Alejandro Iñárritu too, who did The Revenant, that was an extraordinary experience and (Christopher McQuarrie) and I are always working on several different films."

Tom Cruise has suffered many injuries while doing his stunts for the thrilling films. In 2017, he shattered his ankle jumping from rooftops for Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and also suffered torn shoulder muscle, burns and a torn hamstring doing his stunts over the years.
