Meghan Markle sweet tribute to Harry deemed 'over-the-top'

Meghan Markle marked her seventh wedding anniversary with Prince Harry by sharing a heartfelt photo collage on Instagram.

However, it did not sit well with critics with one calling Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’s sweet gesture as “narcissistic” display.

The collage featured the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s cherished moments from their relationship since early days of their dating period.

It had sweet snaps of their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as well as handwritten lyrics.

"Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories,” Meghan captioned the post.

She added, "Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story - we appreciate you. Happy anniversary!"

Sharing her two cents on the matter, royal expert Ingrid Seward criticised the gesture and questioned the need for such a public demonstration of their happiness.

She told The Sun, "I mean I've never heard of someone doing a mood board for a wedding anniversary, but maybe it does happen now.

"But I think it's... Meghan is just so Californian in everything she does,” Seward added. "And that is not a criticism, that's the way they do things.”

"Probably it's completely normal. But I just think it's... you can look but you can't touch sort of thing.

"You know, these are my children but they're tiny, tiny pictures so you can't see them. And aren't Harry and I happy?

The expert continued to bash, "It seems to me such a very narcissistic way of doing things to celebrate an anniversary.

“Showing it to the world. Surely if they really were as happy as she makes out she wouldn't need to tell anyone. That's what it smacks of to me."
