Evan Ross has shared the details of making his mother Diana Ross’ Met Gala embroidered dress.
In a talk with PEOPLE magazine at the 2025 amfAR Gala in Cannes on Thursday, May 22, the 36-year-old actor and musician reflected on his mother’s Met Gala dress and 18-foot shawl, which had her children’s and grandchildren’s names embroidered.
Evan shared, "Ugo Mozie designed it, but me and mom came up with an idea with him to create something. Ugo Mozie is amazing. He’s a Nigerian designer who I'm very close with, and it was a collaboration.”
He added, “The biggest thing for my mom is her children and grandchildren. I mean, my mom has had such a wonderful, amazing career, but what she cares about the most is her grandchildren and children.”
“And so if we could do something that felt like that, I mean, anything that she has, her archive of clothing is so incredible, so anything she could wear is going to be beautiful. But I was happy to be her date. It was nice. It was nice,” the Gardens of the Night star noted.
It is pertinent to mention that Diana Ross, the winner of the Lifetime Grammy Award, shares her eldest daughter, Rhonda, 53, with Motown legend Berry Gordy, while her other two daughters, Tracee, 52, and Chudney, 49, are with Robert Ellis Silberstein, a music executive.
She welcomed her sons Ross, 37, and Evan, 36, with Norwegian mountaineer and businessman Arne Naess Jr.
