Kate Middleton seems to be ditching royal rules and traditions for the sake of raising her kids, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as normally as possible.
According to a new report, the Princess of Wales is raising her children in a way that’s very different from traditional royal parenting.
An insider told Life & Style that Kate is focused on keeping life as normal and grounded as possible for George, Charlotte and Louis.
From doing school runs to spending time outdoors getting messy, Kate tries to give her kids a taste of ordinary life, they added.
The report also noted how late Princess Diana changed the royal parenting approach with Prince William and Prince Harry.
Citing Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of an Improbable Life by Sally Bedell Smith, the report revealed that Queen Elizabeth II “only saw their children after breakfast and tea time.”
But Diana changed this and now Kate is taking it a step further. “It’s all helped Kate forge an incredible bond with her children,” the insider said, noting that Kate has “classic mother-son” connection with both her boys.
“They’re mama’s boys, but not in the sense that they cling to her — they’re both very independent. They just adore Kate and want her approval!” the source added.
They continued, “Being a good mother is what’s most important to Kate, and she works at it,” adding that Kate’s style is “hands-on” and “playful, but firm.”
“Kate prioritizes being present, engaged. She cooks with them, does silly dances with them — her ‘Little Grape’ and her ‘Lou-Bug.’”
