The PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government presented the provincial budget with a total outlay of Rs2,119bn for the fiscal year 2025-26.
Presenting the budget, KP Finance Minister Aftab Alam said the total revenue has been estimated at 2,119bn against the estimated expenditure of 1,962bn, thus showing a surplus amount of 157bn.
The province will receive a total of Rs1,147bn under the federal transfers.
Finance Minister Alam announced that a total of Rs547bn has been proposed for the Annual Development Programme (ADP), including Rs40bn for the merged districts.
He said about Rs363bn have been allocated for the education sector.
The minister said a total of Rs276bn has been allocated for the health sector.
The government has allocated Rs158bn to improve the law-and-order situation in the province.
The finance minister said Rs55bn have been proposed for local government and rural development, while Rs32bn for public health engineering and Rs46bn for the irrigation department.
Around Rs17bn have been allocated for livestock and dairy development in the province.
The finance minister said, keeping in view the inflation, the government has decided to give a 10% raise in salaries while 7%pc in pensions.
Aftab Alam Afridi announced to enhance the minimum monthly wage to Rs40,000.
