Amber Heard lands first acting role since 2023

Amber Heard is returning to acting after two years.

Heard, 39, has been cast in the world premiere production of playwright Jeremy O. Harris' new play Spirit of the People, directed by Katina Medina Mora, Variety reported.

She will be sharing the stage with actors Brandon Flynn and Lío Mehiel.

The play also stars Ato Blankson-Wood, Zachary Booth, James Cusati-Moyer, Amandla Jahava, Emma Ramos, Julian Sanchez, and Tonatiuh.

The play is expected to debut as part of the 2025 Williamstown Theatre Festival, which runs in Williamstown, Ma., between July 17 and August 3.

The play "confronts uncomfortable truths about land and what it means to destroy it," per a description of the Spirit of the People.

The production will be Heard's first acting role since her appearance in In the Fire and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
