Sir Ringo Starr just revealed he provided some "extensive notes" to Sir Sam Mendes about his Beatles biopic.
The 59-year-old filmmaker, who is working on four separate movies about each of the Beatles icons, that is, Starr, Sir Paul McCartney, George Harrison and John Lennon, kept the band’s drummer closely involved in the creative process.
As Starr’s movie aims to provide insights in his family life and the relationship he had with his first wife, Maureen, revealing some critique he had, the legend told the New York Times newspaper:
"He had a writer — very good writer, great reputation, and he wrote it great, but it had nothing to do with Maureen and I. That’s not how we were. I’d say, 'We would never do that.'"
Additionally, the musician expressed uncertainty over the fact if Mendes would be able to deliver all four films by 2028.
"But he’ll do what he’s doing. And I’ll send him peace and love,” Starr stated, and even though he admitted that the director taking on all four movies was “madness” he expressed how "excited" he is to watch the Beatles biopics.
"I’m excited that [Sam] has taken the madness of making four movies at the same time. My life as a lad, John's life, Paul's life, George's life, I mean, it must interact in some way,” he revealed to PEOPLE magazine.
"There’ll be Beatles in mine around when I joined, and there’ll be Beatles in Paul’s. We’ll all be there. So I’m excited to see what he does with it,” Sir Ringo Starr concluded.
