Rob Reiner honoured by CBS in one-hour special

CBS paid tribute to Rob Reiner who was found with his wife Michele Singer throats slit on December 14 in his LA Brentwood home.

One of Hollywood’s most enduring storytellers was honoured with a one-hour special titled Rob Reiner – Scenes From a Life.

The program aired Sunday, December 21 on CBS News and streamed simultaneously on Paramount+.

Produced by CBS News, the special traced Reiner’s journey from his breakout role as Meathead on All in the Family to his remarkable run as a filmmaker behind classics such as The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery, Stand by Me, This Is Spinal Tap, and The American President.

The tribute featured new interviews with friends and collaborators including Kathy Bates, Annette Bening, Albert Brooks, Michael Douglas, Kiefer Sutherland, Jerry O’Connell, and Mandy Patinkin.

Archival footage revisited Reiner’s own reflections across decades of CBS News conversations, including his final sit-down with Lesley Stahl on 60 Minutes earlier this fall.

CBS set to create this special right after the news of their passing spread.

Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead in their Los Angeles home. Their son, Nick Reiner, has been arrested on charges of murders.
