Zendaya faces Alana Haim onscreen fury in ‘The Drama'

Zendaya found herself at the center of some intense moments while filming The Drama, and co-star Alana Haim admitted she couldn’t stop apologizing to her between takes.

In the upcoming dark comedy from director Kristoffer Borgli, Zendaya plays Emma, a bride-to-be whose engagement to Robert Pattinson’s Charlie is threatened after a dinner-table confession.

Haim, portraying Rachel, Emma’s outspoken maid of honor, revealed to Entertainment Weekly that screaming at Zendaya during filming left her feeling guilty.

“Cut, and then me being like, ‘I’m so sorry!’” she recalled.

For Haim, the role was a departure from her real-life personality.

“She’s so mean! I don’t think I’m a mean person… It was basically the first time I was playing a character that was so not me,” she explained.

Mamoudou Athie, who plays her onscreen husband, joked that she “beat him up” during filming, but praised her ability to “disturb the air in the room” and elevate the performances around her.

The film’s central conflict unfolds when Rachel pushes Emma to reveal the worst thing she’s ever done.

Emma’s disturbing confession not only shocks her fiancé but also ignites Rachel’s fury, setting off a chain of events that threatens the wedding.

Despite the heavy subject matter, Haim says filming was filled with laughter. “Shooting that scene at the dinner table, we were having the best time,” she noted, even if it meant apologizing to Zendaya after every take.

Zendaya, meanwhile, continues to balance her career highs with her personal life.

The Emmy-winning star has spoken openly about her relationship with Tom Holland, calling him “my person” in past interviews.

Their bond has become a steady anchor as she navigates blockbuster projects like Euphoria, Dune, and now The Drama.

The Drama hits theaters Friday, April 3.
