Jaafar Jackson is following in his uncle Michael Jackson’s footsteps as he makes entertainment history.

The breakout actor, who portrayed the King of Pop in a new biopic, just achieved a major goal in his career as Michael officially becomes the highest-grossing in history, surpassing Elvis, Oppenheimer, Bohemian Rhapsody, and more.

“Highest grossing Biopic of ALL TIME,” he wrote on Instagram on Sunday, June 28.

“Wow!! Thank you all so much,” the 29-year-old continued. “This record, this accomplishment. It was a dream goal of mine for this film and you all made it real.”

Jaafar then made a heartfelt prediction about how his late uncle would have felt about the honour.

“I promise you Michael is up there absolutely grinning about this. This one’s for him,” he concluded.

Released on April 24, 2026, Michael was an instant hit. The movie took home $217M globally in its first week and $977M ‘til now.

The film also launched Jaafar into superstardom, and he opened up about what the movie meant to him while presenting an award during the BET Awards over the weekend.

“We’re so grateful for the love you all showed to our movie. You guys had the theatres packed. We’re truly so humbled. Your support means the world to the Jackson family,” he said.
