Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni legal teams butt heads about 'IEWU' trial

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s It Ends With Us trial still has terms and conditions to be settled before it begins on May 18.

The 38-year-old actress had ten of her thirteen claims dismissed by the judge and the rest will be discussed in the trial, however, the Jane the Virgin star, 42, argued that still “irrelevant” claims should be eliminated so that the jury is not distracted.

One of these claims include Baldoni’s alleged remarks about Lively’s weight which, her team argued should be a part of the case because they add the “necessary context” to her retaliation claims.

Lively’s attorneys claimed that the weight-related claims are “part of the same course of conduct” and “bear directly on the reasonableness of her belief” that she was facing inappropriate behaviour at workplace, supporting her harassment claims further.

The Gossip Girl alum accused Baldoni of using “back-channel ways of criticising her body and weight” during one of the meetings for the movies, at her New York City penthouse in presence of Ryan Reynolds.

Lively claimed that Baldoni reached out to her fitness trainer without consulting her and requested for a plan for her to lose weight within a short period.

Baldoni, however, has maintained that he contacted Lively’s trainer to understand how to navigate a lift scene according to her weight, due to his own history of back issues.
