Southwest flight attendant Jenny Lupton found dead in Hawaii hotel fall

A Southwest Airlines flight attendant from Oklahoma was tragically found dead in Hawaii last week after reportedly falling 24 floors from her hotel balcony in Waikiki.

Jenny Lupton, age 50, from Moore, Oklahoma, was found dead on Friday at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort. The Honolulu Police Department has started an investigation into an unattended death, with the cause and manner of death yet to be determined.

Lupton was in Hawaii for business purposes and was there during her layover period. As per reports, she had communicated with her sister through text messages only a few hours before her death when she was getting the outline done for a new tattoo that she was to fill later after coming back to Oklahoma.

She leaves behind a 15-year-old son named Kaleb.

However, her family members doubt the circumstances leading to her death, saying she would never commit suicide.

Her family said: “We have not talked to the police yet. We have only spoken to the medical examiner. It was either some kind of freak accident or someone harmed her.”

As per The New York Post, doctors confirmed that Lupton's injuries were indicative of someone who fell from a height. It apparently took the authorities a day to notify her family.

Lupton was a flight attendant at Southwest Airlines for more than twenty years. Lupton’s niece, Hannah Lupton, was also a flight attendant. She said Lupton “was truly the best aunt anyone could have asked for.”

Hannah said: “She was the light of every party, the person who could make a room brighter simply by being in it. She had a personality that was impossible to forget.”

Southwest Airlines expressed deep sadness over the loss, stating: “The Southwest Airlines family is deeply saddened by the passing of our colleague during a layover in Hawaii. We have offered our condolences and support to the employee’s family and co-workers and are engaged with local authorities as they investigate.”
