Family of Alexis Kramer, killed in McLaren crash seeks help to bring her remains to Florida

The family of a 22-year-old woman killed in a fatal crash in Irvine has sought help to bring her remains back home to Florida.

Alexis 'Lexi' Kramer was killed while riding as a passenger in a McLaren crash that erupted in flames on September 13, 2026.

The crash also resulted in the killing of the driver, who was later identified as a 27-year-old influencer, James Wehr.

Now Kramer’s sister, Kaitlin, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to pool funds for funeral expenses and to cover the transportation cost of bringing her sister’s remains back home in Florida.

Kramer was a resident of Lakeland.

Irvine police officials confirmed on September 17 the identity of the pair who died in the fatal crash.

According to the Major Accident Investigation Team that is tasked with investigating the fatal crashes, the investigators said, "We have clear evidence that shows Wehr was in the driver’s seat of the McLaren and Kramer was in the passenger seat at the time of the collision.”

As per a statement released by the Irvine Police Department on Facebook on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

The Major Accident Investigation Team, abbreviated MAIT, is a specialised unit that is tasked with investigating serious and fatal crashes.

It also added, “The investigators will examine all possible contributing factors to the collision including roadway and vehicle conditions and Wehr’s operation of the McLaren.”

Kramer’s sister wrote on the GoFundMe page, “Because of where it took place my family now has to make arrangement to get her back to our home in Florida.”

The police officials said the speeding car was heading north on Culver Drive near Deerfield Avenue when it collided with a tree around 12:20 a.m. on Sunday, September 13.
