What is Accenture? Complete details about Anthropic's first embedded AI safety evaluator

Accenture is a global professional services firm headquartered in Dublin, serving more than 9,000 clients in over 120 countries. It has reported around $70 billion in revenue for fiscal year 2025.

The firm is best known for helping large enterprises and governments “reinvent” themselves through technology, consulting, and managed services. Its reinvention services span cybersecurity, digital core, finance, supply chain, engineering, and talent, with advanced AI and data capabilities.

Anthropic announced Friday, September 18, that it has chosen Accenture as its first embedded evaluator, marking the first concrete step in CEO Dario Amodei’s plan to slow frontier AI development and strengthen oversight.

Under the agreement, Accenture’s specialist AI unit, faculty, will place staff inside Anthropic with employee-level access to red-team models, conduct alignment assessments, and test safeguards. Each company expects to invest at least $1 billion over five years, with Anthropic funding Accenture’s work directly.

In contrast to external audits, embedded evaluators observe models during training, follow deployment decisions, and interact directly with staff. Anthropic acknowledged that no standards yet exist for evaluator access or reporting, and said long-term funding should come from pooled or government sources, as noted in its June Advanced AI framework.
