ABU DHABI: Pakistan were 127-1 at lunch on the fourth morning of the first Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

Mohammad Hafeez, who had missed his sixth Test century by just four runs in the first innings, is again going towards his hundred. He was batting on 72 for his second half-century in the match while Younis Khan, who had scored an unbeaten hundred in the first innings was unbeaten on 26 as Pakistan stretched their lead to 431.

That gives Pakistan a strong position for a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series.

Resuming at 15-0, Pakistan lost Azhar Ali for 23 to leg-spinner Ish Sodhi who has figures of 1-47.

Hafeez made 69 with Azahr for the first wicket and since then he has so far added another 58 runs with Younis.
