KARACHI: Pre-monsoon rains are expected to begin in the northern areas of the country, coastal regions of Sindh and eastern Balochistan from Tuesday, Geo News reported Monday.
According to the meteorological department’s forecast, rains along with dust storm are predicted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central parts of Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the next 24 hours.
Moreover, the weather will remain dry with high temperatures in other parts of the country.
During the last 24 hours, certain regions in northern Punjab, upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan experienced thunderstorms along with strong winds.
Heaviest downpour of 31 mm was recorded in Sialkot while in Nurpur Thal 19 mm, Mianwali 17 mm, Kotli 15 mm and in Mandi Bahauddin 7 mm of rainfall was recorded.
In Turbat, highest temperature of 47 degrees was recorded on Sunday.
