LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday declared that the constitutional immunity is not granted automatically in any case, adding that it first needs to be pleaded.
A five-member bench of the high court headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the contempt of court petition over President Asif Ali Zardari dual office case.
Lawyers asked the court to adjourned hearing over strike being observed by the community against National Judicial Policy which was refused by the court.
The petitioner A K Dogar presenting his arguments said that no one enjoyed immunity in contempt of court. He said that the Supreme Court in its various orders made very much clear about president's immunity.
