Pakistan eunuchs also join electoral race

KARACHI: Eunuchs also succumb to the temptation of getting into power, as two prominent members of their community have obtained nomination forms for PS-115 and 130 Sindh.

Under the slogan “don’t try the tested ones … shake hands with eunuchs”, Bindya Rana, the provincial president of one of their organizations ‘Jayya’ is planning to contest polls from PS-115 Sindh while Mazhar Anjum alias Anju is aiming for PS-130.

They have already obtained nomination papers to take part in the upcoming general elections – a battle of big guns that ironically entails survival of the ‘fittest’.

Talking to media persons, a group of eunuchs said members of their community will get into the electoral arena from across Pakistan. “If we got into power, we would turnaround the prevailing circumstances within six months,” they claimed.

They further said that they have been in contact with other political parties for seat adjustments. “Alliance will be made only with a party whose manifesto covers protection of eunuchs’ rights,” they added.

With the hope of bringing about a ‘change’, the eunuchs will file their nominations for two Sindh Assembly seats on Friday.
