KARACHI: Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan militant during a raid in a low-income locality in the metropolis.
Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) CID Raja Umar Khitab said Hakimullah Mehsud, namesake of the head of the most feared militia, which has been waging war against the country, was ringleader of the outfit in Sohrab Goth area.
The officer said that Mehsud had setup an office of Insaaf Aman Committee and would issue decrees from the same platform.
Khitab said that weapons were also recovered from the possession of the Hakimullah Mehsud.
He said that the militant was also accused of receiving extortion from the citizens.
