Delhi outclass Bangalore by six wickets in IPL
Updated at: 2058 PST,  Sunday, April 26, 2009
Delhi outclass Bangalore by six wickets in IPL PORT ELIZABETH: An unbeaten half-century from Tillakaratne Dilshan completed Delhi Daredevils’ third consecutive win in the tournament as they defeated Bangalore Royal Challengers by six wickets with four balls to spare.

The victory took Delhi to top of the points table along with Deccan Chargers, both having six points each. On the other hand, Bangalore suffered their fourth consecutive defeat.

Though Delhi lost their openers, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, early but Dilshan and de Villiers went about chasing the target of 150 calmly and got it in 19.2 overs.

Earlier, captain Kevin Pietersen won the toss and decided to bat first but his team made a disastrous start when Jacques Kallis was bowled off first ball from left-arm pacer Dirk Nannes and Robin Uthappa got out for three.

However, Pietersen and Ross Taylor came at 10-2 and took the score to 78, adding 62 runs for the third wicket.

Pietersen made 37 off 25 balls with two fours and two sixes while Taylor scored 31. Later, Mark Boucher smashed 36 runs from 28 balls with two fours and two sixes.

For Delhi Daredevils, Ashish Nehra claimed two wickets while Nannes, Pradeep Sangwaan, Ameet Mishra and Daniel Vettori took one wicket each.

Bangalore made three changes in their lineup as they brought in the 20-year old left-arm spinner KP Appanna and medium-pacer B Akhil in place of Praveen Kumar and Dravid. They also left out Jesse Ryder and strengthened their middle-order by including Mark Boucher.

Delhi, on the other hand, made two changes to the eleven that beat Chennai Super Kings. Manoj Tiwary and Avishkar Salvi were rested and they were replaced by Mithun Manhas and the legspinner Amit Mishra.

This match was telecast live by Geo Super.
