HEAD KHANKI: Crops spreading over hundreds of acres were destroyed and several villages were submerged as floodwater entered various parts of Gujranwala and Wazirabad.

According to Geo News reporter, given the flood situation in rivers, all the rescue departments were put on high alert to cope with any untoward situation.

The Flood Control Centre said a discharge of 500,000 cusec water was likely to pass through River Chenab, which had already attained high level flood. They said that water level was also increasing at Head Khanki and it has now increased from 299000 to 380000.

The water level at the Head Qadirabad was recorded 256000. Similarly, Flood level was decreasing at Chashma in River Sindh in district Mianwali.

Meanwhile, a bridge was washed away after a breach in nullah dek while a whole locality was inundated in Pasrur near Narowal.
