MQM, PTI come face to face again on division of Sindh
KARACHI: Hostility between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Muttahida Qaumi Movement have increased once again, this time over the creation of new province in Sindh.

Upset at the statements given by the PTI leaders, MQM has made a call for a sit-in protest on Saturday.

During a press conference yesterday, MQM’s Raabta committee members said that PTI in their manifesto had promised to set new administrative units but Nadir Akmal Laghari and Arif Alvi only talked about new administrative units in 3 provinces in their statements.

MQM leader Haider Abbass Rizvi said that MQM does not want the division of Sindh but is talking about the formation of 20 new administrative units in the country.

MQM had also walked out of the joint session of the parliament the previous day on the same issue.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that during a visit to Sindh some of the PTI leaders had opposed the division of Sindh and their statements were equivalent to ignoring the problems of urban areas.

Addressing a press conference, Khushbakht Shujat, also a member of the Defense/Clifton residents society, condemned the statements given by PTI’s Nadir Akmal Laghari and Arif Alvi and declared that opposing the creation of a new province in Sindh is a clear declaration of hostility.

Altaf Hussain in his address on 17th September had also criticized PPP Patron-in-Chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on opposing the division of Sindh.

PPP leader Rehman Malik cleared that Bilawal Bhutto had not issued any statement on the remarks by Altaf Hussain. He further said that he will discuss the matter of the new administrative units with Altaf Hussain today.
