Somerset sign Kiwi Anderson for T20 Blast
LONDON: Big-hitting New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson will play for Somerset in the second half of this season´s domestic T20 Blast competition, the English county announced on Wednesday.

Anderson held the record for the fastest one-day international century until his 36-ball feat against the West Indies at Queenstown last year was surpassed by South Africa´s AB de Villiers against the same team in January.

"I have always wanted to play domestic cricket in England, so I am very pleased to have signed to play T20 cricket for Somerset," said the 24-year-old, who is currently playing for New Zealand at the World Cup.

Somerset director of cricket Matthew Maynard added: "I am absolutely delighted Corey is able to join us straight after the New Zealand tour to England concludes.

"Sohail Tanveer will play the first half of the T20 competition, and Corey will be playing with us from game eight through to game 14 -- after which goes off with New Zealand on another tour." (AFP)
