PM Nawaz, family meet Ali Haider Gilani

MULTAN: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with his family on Saturday visited the residence of former prime minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Yousuf Raza Gilani and congratulated him upon his son Ali Haider Gilani’s recovery from Taliban’s captivity after three years.

PM Nawaz was accompanied by his wife Kulsoom Nawaz and son Hussain Nawaz during his visit to the Gilani house in Lahore’s Defence area.

In the meeting, the premier and the PPP leader also discussed issues related to the ongoing political situation of the country. Nawaz, in the hour-long visit, expressed his government’s commitment to eliminate terrorism and said that he wanted to take along all the political parties.

Upon his arrival, the prime minister also presented fruits, flowers and sweets to the Gilanis.

Former PM Gilani’s son Ali Haider Gilani was recovered on May 10, in a joint operation by Afghan and US forces in Ghazni, three years after he was kidnapped from a pre-election rally in Multan.
