PM acknowledges Sattar's MQM as the only MQM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday acknowledged Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan, headed by Dr. Farooq Sattar, as the only MQM that exists in the country, according to sources.

Sources confided to Geo News that MQM Pakistan chief Dr. Farooq Sattar held a brief meeting with the prime minister, ahead of the key meeting of parliamentary parties' heads on Monday.

"We are patriotic people and want to work together for Karachi's peace," sources quoted Sattar as telling PM Sharif.

The prime minister responded to Sattar, "We recognise the only MQM of which you are the head".

During the encounter, the PM drew Finance Minister Ishaq Dar closer and gave him directives pertaining to the MQM Pakistan.
