No power shutdown in Ramazan due to development projects: PM Nawaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif directed on Tuesday that no power shutdown should take place during the month of Ramazan in the name of ongoing development projects.

The PM chaired the ninth consecutive session of the Standing Committee on Energy. During the session, he gave the approval for a new, 1200MW LNG plant.

The PM also gave directions for timely maintenance of the power plants. PM Nawaz also expressed anger over the officials of the Ministry of Water and Power.

He said that electricity should be provided to consumers through every possible effort.

The federal secretary for the Ministry of Water and Power gave a briefing over the production of electricity and ongoing projects in the meeting.

According to sources, the PM was not pleased with the maintenance work of the plants in Bhaki, Haveli Shah Bahudur and others.
