LAHORE: Electricity supply in the provincial capital suffered severe disruption after heavy rain in the wee hours of Friday caused over 200 feeders to trip.

According to the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) spokesman, over 200 feeders tripped due to the heavy rain in Lahore.

The weather turned pleasant following the rain, as sweltering temperature came down much to the relief of the residents of Lahore and adjoining areas.

Although rain showers in Multan Road, Thokar Niaz and various areas of Lahore caused the distressing heatwave to break, suffering continued, as the provincial capital plunged into darkness with disruption in the supply of electricity.

According to LESCO authorities, the process of restoring the tripped feeders will begin as soon as the rain stops.
