ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Uzma Kardar disrupted State Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb’s press conference on Thursday by walking up to the dais and asking her to leave.

Kardar remarked that Marriyum had been speaking for the past hour. “We also have to speak,” she said.

Following this, PTI workers insisted that the minister leave. Soon, police officers intervened to stop the incident from escalating and dispersed the PTI workers.

After the commotion, Aurangzeb chided the PTI workers for their behaviour. “What kind of behaviour is this? They [PTI workers] are always attacking everyone.”

If the conversation is not what they want, then they start complaining, she said.

PTI leader Faisal Javed spoke to media and said that Marriyum Aurangzeb took more time but our people should have kept their patience.

He said that the PTI leaders such as Fawad Chaudhry etc were standing at the back, the supporters should have followed them.

“Whatever happened wasn’t appropriate,” remarked Javed.

Earlier on May 29, an unusual situation had developed outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan when PML-N leader Danyal Aziz was about to address the media but was interrupted by a PTI lawyer.

The incident had been two steps short of a scuffle and eventually ended with the dais tumbling to the ground.
