NORTH WAZIRISTAN: One person was killed and four injured when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blew up in the Darpa Khel area of North Waziristan on Tuesday, sources told Geo News.

According to sources, the IED exploded near a school, killing one person identified as Irfanullah.

The army launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb in June 2014, entering for the first time the militant safe-haven of North Waziristan.

After the army cleared the region, the displaced population is now returning to the conflict-hit zone.
