ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz deplored on Friday the manhandling of lawyers by security personnel outside the Federal Judicial Complex.

Addressing the media on her way out of the complex, Maryam said the lawyers should have been allowed to enter the court as they had permission.

"I will request the Interior Ministry to inquire into the incident," she said.

Earlier, Maryam and her husband MNA Capt (retd) Safdar reached the complex for their indictment in the Avenfield properties reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau.

As the accountability court began hearing the corruption cases against the Sharif family, a group of lawyers entered the courtroom protesting police high-handedness against them.

The police had only allowed selected persons to enter the complex.
