Two held for smuggling foreign currency, drugs at Lahore airport

LAHORE: The Airport Security Force (ASF) arrested a suspect on Sunday for attempting to smuggle foreign currency out of the country. 

According to sources, ASF officials seized Rs2 million in foreign currency from a passenger who was travelling to China on a Pakistan International Airlines flight. 

ASF officials have taken the passenger, identified as Shahid Alam, into custody. 

Further investigations are under way.

In another operation, the ASF seized 1.5kg heroin from a suspect. 

Sources said that the suspect, identified as Latif, a resident of Narowal, Punjab, was travelling to Karachi. 

He has been taken into custody and is being investigated.
