KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) chief Farooq Sattar is likely to travel to the United States next week, sources told Geo News late Thursday.

Sattar announced to quit the party and politics late Thursday night, but retracted his decision shortly afterwards.

The announcement by the MQM-P chief came a day after he announced to contest general elections 2018 together with Pak Sarzameen Party under "one name, one election symbol."

Sources say Sattar will be travelling to the US for his daughter's wedding.

They said the MQM-P chief may stay in the US for nearly six months.
