Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli who is no stranger to controversy once again became embroiled in one when he told a fan that he should not be living in India if he cannot like Indian cricketers.

Responding to messages during the launch of his mobile app, Kohli was reading tweets and Instagram messages before coming across a user, who said the Indian skipper has nothing special in his batting.

"Over-rated batsman and personally I see nothing special in his batting. I enjoy watching English and Australian batsmen more than these Indians."

To this, the 30-year-old replied, "I don't think you should live in India. Go and live somewhere else. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me, I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right.”

However, his reply did not go down well with the internet, with many users slamming the Indian skipper for his tasteless reply.

Indian commentator and journalist Harsha Bhogle called Kohli's reply "a reflection of the bubble that most famous people either slip into or are forced into."

While some called out Kohli for his double standard and asked when he was planning to move.
