DUBAI: Sohail Akhtar, the flamboyant batsman of Lahore Qalandars has set eyes on the best batsman award in the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League.
Speaking to Geo.tv on Saturday, Sohail Akhtar said that his aim is to contribute more towards team’s cause than individual goals, however, being best batsman of the tournament is something he would look at.
“As such my personal goal is to do whatever is needed by my team. Weather I score 10 or 50, it should help my team. Team’s cause is greater than personal goal,” Akhtar said.
“But, an award such as best batsman of the tournament is something I always look at.”
Sohail revealed that he’s likely to play up in the order and he’s looking to give good start to the team, every time he goes to bat.
He credited Lahore Qalandars to give him a new life by reviving his career.
“I had lost hopes and gave up on cricket but Qalandars brought me back and gave me the opportunity which was never provided to me before by anyone else,” he revealed.
“I am thankful to Lahore Qalandars for giving a new life to my career.”
Replying to a question, Akhtar said he’s very much hopeful of Lahore’s success this time in the Pakistan Super League.
“We have a very good combination this time and I have a feeling that Qalandars will not disappoint fans this season,” he concluded.
