HBO confirms episode lengths for 'Game of Thrones' final season

With just under a month to go till the final season of Game of Thrones hits our screen, HBO has finally broken its silence regarding the final season’s episode length rumours.

The final six episodes of the television show were originally rumoured to be 90 minutes long each, however, it has now been confirmed that only the last four episodes will be longer than the show’s usual runtime. HBO also revealed the debut dates for each of the last episodes, the first of which premieres on April 14, Deadline reported.

The network put out the official run time for all six episodes in season 8 along with their air dates.

Debut date: Sunday, April 14 

Estimated running time: 0:54

Season 8, episode 2

Debut date: Sunday, April 21 

Estimated running time: 0:58

Season 8, episode 3

Debut date: Sunday, April 28

Season 8, episode 4

Debut date: Sunday, May 5

Season 8, episode 5

Debut date: Sunday, May 12

Earlier this month, HBO released a trailer for the final season, in which fans were given a glimpse into the epic battles and drama to come.

Game of Thrones season eight premiers on April 14.
