ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid said on Friday that whenever former prime minister Nawaz Sharif fell ill, attempts were made to take him abroad.

The federal minister lashed out at the Sharif brothers while addressing an event. Rashid said that former president Asif Ali Zardari was more ill than Nawaz but he was serving time in prison like the common man.

He lashed out at both Sharif brothers during his speech, saying that Shehbaz was a bigger thief than Nawaz. Rashid also slammed JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

“He is not marching for Islam, he’s marching for Islamabad,” said Rashid. “If Imran gives NRO right now, all movements would die down.”

Nawaz was allowed bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case on medical grounds. Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid said that the government would obey the court’s orders if it allowed Sharif to fly abroad for medical treatment.

She had also said that a plane was ready to fly in any doctor the Sharif family wanted from abroad to treat Nawaz.

“Nawaz’s health is the priority—politics comes second,” she said.
