PM Imran to launch 'largest ever' need-based scholarship scheme today

Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that he will be launching the country’s “largest ever need-based undergraduate scholarship programme” on Monday.

In a tweet, PM Imran said, “I will launch the largest ever needs-based undergraduate scholarship programme in the history of Pakistan today.”

According to the details, the programme will be launched under the Ehsaas programme which is focused on poverty alleviation.

Under the programme, 200,000 scholarships will be distributed over the next four years with 50,000 being given annually.

The prime minister also said that the government plans on promoting human capital development under the programme by awarding fifty per cent of the scholarships to women.
