LAHORE: CCPO Lahore, Ahmed Raza Tahir has dismissed reports that US national Warren Weinstein has been rescued, Geo News reported.
According to the sources, Warren Weinstein was rescued from a house during an operation in Khushab, however high-ranking police officials and intelligence agencies are not confirming this report. Khushab police has also not confirmed if Warren was rescued. The police had earlier arrested four suspects in connection with the Americans kidnapping.
Warren Weinstein was abducted on August 13 after gunmen stormed through the back door and overpowered his guards. He was kidnapped at dawn in Model Town, just two days before he was due to return to the United States after more than four years in Pakistan.
Weinstein had lived in Lahore since 2006, working for J.E. Austin Associates, which recently completed a development project in tribal belt.
