LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid Tuesday said that the government is providing free coronavirus vaccine to people aged 15 to 18 years.

In a message to the people, Rashid said that people from the 15-18 age group should not pay for their vaccination.

The minister clarified that according to the guidelines issued by the government, only people who need booster shots or an extra dose of COVID vaccine should pay.

She added that people should contact helpline 1033 for any further information or guidance.

On Saturday, the Pakistan government had decided to further lower the age of those eligible to get a COVID-19 vaccine to 15 years.

The National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) had said that people between the ages of 15 and 18 are now eligible for the vaccine.

Children between the ages of 15 and 18 will be vaccinated for free with the Pfizer vaccine, the NCOC said.
