ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan said Thursday he would accept any decision the Supreme Court of Pakistan announces today, sources informed Geo News.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial earlier today said the SC would announce the verdict today of the suo motu case related to National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri’s ruling related to the blocking of the vote of no-confidence against the prime minister.

The prime minister's statement came during a meeting with the government's legal team, sources said, with Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Jawed Khan, Babar Awan, and others in presence.

The legal team, according to sources, informed the prime minister about the proceedings of the top court.

After hearing the briefing, PM Imran Khan said: "We will accept any decision the Supreme Court announces. PTI is ready for elections and we will not let any foreign conspiracy succeed."

On April 3, the NA deputy speaker had blocked a no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister Imran Khan, terming it a “foreign conspiracy”. Later President Arif Aliv, upon the advice of PM Khan, dissolved the National Assembly and called for a fresh election.

On the same day, CJP Bandial took suo motu notice of the political crisis while the Opposition challenged the government’s “unconstitutional” act in the top court.

Today, after hearing the case for five consecutive days, the top court will announce its verdict.
