KESC removes over 1,000 kundas on consumer's complaint

KARACHI: The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) in line with its policy to encourage consumers to report unauthorized power usage has removed over 1,000 illegal connections from Altaf Town and Korangi Industrial Area on a consumer's complaint.

A KESC statement on Tuesday said that the consumer, whose identity has been kept secret under the policy, had complained of kunda connections in Sector 30 of Korangi.

It said that taking prompt action, KESC teams surveyed the area concerned and found the complaint genuine.

Upon receiving the survey report, a drive was carried out in the kunda infested areas of various sectors of Altaf Town and Korangi Industrial Area, the statement said adding that as many as 500 illegal connections were removed from Altaf Town PMT, another 500 from Aurgus PMT in Sector 15 and two illegal connections from Plastic Technology substation in Korangi Industrial Area.

KESC has asked the citizens to keep vigilance in their surrounding areas and report any irregularity or electricity theft, the statement added.
