With 2023 coming to an end, Pakistani singers Atif Aslam and Talha Anjum have once again proved their mettle in the music world with their inclusion into Spotify's list of most streamed artists in the country.

As per Spotify Wrapped 2023, the duo managed to retain their spot to join the star-studded lineup of artists with the likes of Taylor Swift, The Weekend, Arijit Singh, Pritam, Sidhu Moose Wala (late) and others.

This year's Wrapped data showed an impressive 82% growth in local music consumption with several Pakistani artists making a mark in the music industry.

With Aslam and Anjum as the top two streamed local artists in the country, the list — reflecting Pakistani listeners' diverse music tastes — also included legends such as the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan at number five and seven positions, respectively.

Furthermore, young guns such as Umair — ranked third — along with Rovalio, Abdul Hannan and Asim Azhar also made it into the top 10 most streamed Pakistani artists.

However, when it comes to most streamed artists in the country overall, it seems that Pakistan's love affair with Arijit Singh is far from over as the Tum Hi Ho singer emerged on top followed by Pritam and AP Dhillon at second and third position, respectively.

The list also includes Taylor Swift and The Weekend as the eighth and ninth most streamed artists in Pakistan.

When it comes to fan-favourite local songs, Kaifi Khali's Kahani Suno surpasses all and tops the list as the most streamed local track — a list heavily influenced by Abdul Hannan whose three songs Iraaday, Bikhra and Siyah securing the next three spots.

Furthermore, Shae Gill — whose Pasoori is ranked as the fifth most local streamed song — emerged as the top most streamed local female artist followed by Momina Mustehsan and Abida Parveen at second and third positions respectively.

The list also includes the likes of Quratulain Baloch, Naseebo Lal, Aima Baig and the late Nazia Hassan.

Talha Anjum's Open Letter became the most streamed local album while being the second most streamed album overall — only surpassed by Shubh's Still Rollin.
