Apple is predicted to unveil its new operating system probably in June which may allow AI functionality and not all old iPhones support iOS 18.

The new update will be limited to iPhones released after 2018, i.e., SE series, the 8 Plus model, and others, to improve the hardware chips featuring faster processors and memory with an ability to handle complex and highly demanding operations.

This update might just be Apple’s biggest move, which is forecasted to incorporate Google A1 Gemini to do things like image creation and essay writing on the phone quite easily.

With the WWDC taking place from June 10 to 14, it's highly anticipated that Apple will make its iOS 18 debut.

However, earlier iPhones do not have the necessary processors, having introduced the A12 Bionic chip with the iPhone XR and iPhone XS models in 2018 which is considered as a requisite for iOS 18 compatibility.

Not only the devices that are based on the A12 Bionic chip (iPhone XS, XS Max, XR) but also those equipped with the A11 Bionic chip (iPhone X, 8, 8 Plus) and A10 Fusion chip (iPhone 7, 7 Plus) will become the targets. This will result in limited access to the update's features for those devices.
