Emily Blunt reveals what she despises about Hollywood

Emily Blunt recently weighed on a word used in Hollywood the most and why she utterly despises it.

The 41-year-old actress recently sat down for a cover interview with Vanity Fair Italy, alongside her The Fall Guy co-star Ryan Gosling.

During the conversation, Emily expressed her frustration over algorithm-driven decisions and said, “Some new things frustrate me: algorithms, for example. I hate that f*****g word, excuse the expletive! How can it be associated with art and content? How can we let it determine what will be successful and what will not?”

She also pointed out that Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, in which she starred as Kitty Oppenheimer, wouldn’t have been made if the production had based their decisions on what the algorithm likes.

“Let me explain with an example. I was in a three-hour film about a physicist, which had the impact it had – the algorithms probably wouldn’t have grasped it. My hope is that ‘Oppenheimer’ and similar projects are not considered anomalies, that we stop translating creative experience into diagrams,” Emily explained.

The Robert J. Oppenheimer biopic ended up grossing more than $960 million at the worldwide box office and ultimately became the highest-grossing biographical drama in history.
