LAHORE: CNG stations in several cities of Punjab remain closed as gas supply has been limited due to the severe cold wave.
On January 5, Sui Northern Gas Company had announced that gas supply to Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be suspended for an indefinite period, however CNG was unavailable prior to this notice.
In Lahore and Multan regions, CNG stations have been closed for the past nine days and public transport is barely operational. Low gas pressure has also caused difficulties for residential and commercial consumers.
CNG stations have been closed in Bahawalpur for 15 days, Faisalabad 13 days and 11 days in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
A 48 hour closure of CNG stations in Sindh also began on Tuesday.
