PERTH: Australia only required 9.2 over to reach the 71 run target set by the West Indies in the 1st ODI.

West-Indian captain Darren Sammy’s decision to bat first after winning the toss back fired as top order failed to cope with the Australian pace attack and were reduced to 19/5 at one stage.

Only three West-Indian batsmen managed to reach double figures including Captain Sammy who top scored with 19.

M.A.Starc was the pick of the Australian bowlers grabbing a career best fiver giving away only 20 runs. CJ.Mackay 3/10 and JP Faulkner 2/14 were the other wicket takers.
