ECP reconstitution will not require much time: Imran
CHAKWAL: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan said Sunday that the reconstitution of the Election Commission of Pakistan would not require much time.

Addressing a convention of party workers and speaking to the media here, Khan said that apart from Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim, the 'two parties' had come to a compromise. The PTI chairman further said that his party would not form an electoral alliance and contest the elections alone.

Commenting on the fate of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, Khan said their time was up and he would claim both their wickets with one delivery. “Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari cannot stop the tsunami even if they unite.”

Imran Khan added that he had been advocating for the last nine years that the US led war on terror should not be fought by Pakistan and the country should hold talks with the Taliban. “I was called Taliban Khan and now everyone is in favour of talks with the Taliban.”

According to Imran Khan, the intra-party elections of the PTI would be completed by March 15 and there will also be an election for the chairman’s post.

The PTI chairman also raised questions pertaining to the Bilawal House in Lahore and President Zardari’s finances. He asked how much in taxes was paid by the president and what was his source of income.

Imran Khan also put emphasis on the elimination of corruption and tax evasion, stating that this was essential to steer the country towards prosperity.
